ACR122U - USB NFC Reader

The ACR122U NFC Reader is a PC-linked contactless smart card reader/writer developed based on 13.56 MHz Contactless (RFID) Technology. Compliant with the ISO/IEC18092 standard for Near Field Communication (NFC), it supports not only MIFARE® and ISO 14443 A and B cards, but also all four types of NFC tags.

This works perfectly for the xNT,FlexNT and other ISO 14443 Tags.

Please note this is the official ACS ACR122U NFC Reader not a knock of version. You’ll find commonly online non-genuine versions which do not perform well and easily break. See here for the manufacturers official notice regarding it.

Hunter Cat Hands On: How to Use

The Hunter Cat consists of two Magnetic Head detectors, three LEDs, a reset switch and a battery. It's the same width and depth as a standard credit card, but slightly longer, allowing for the card to be easily inserted and removed.

It has four exposed pin pads, triggering the ATM mechanism to open the card tray.

Powering On the Device

First Use: To use for the first time, simply place a CR-2303 battery into the battery holder. The LEDS will flash four times - the device is ready for use.

Standard Use: Press the reset button. The device LEDs will flash four times, indicating that it is ready for use.

Sleep Mode: After fifteen seconds of inactivity - the device will cycle the LEDs two times, and go into sleep mode.

 

Using the Device

Insert and remove the device quickly (less than one second) as per standard "add/remove" ATMs.

It is important that the device is inserted and removed in less than one second. to provide accurate results.

 

The device will process the information, which will take approximate one second and display its audit: OK, Warning, Dangerous.

Based off this result, you can confidently use your bank card, or avoid using the device.

      Our 125kHz implants like the xEM and NExT contain the T5577 chip, which is capable of emulating many different types of 125kHz ID chips including EM41xx, EM42xx, HID ProxCard, Indala, AWID, and others. However the T5577 chip does not support tear protection, so if you attempt to change the configuration of the T5577 without a good coupling (i.e. a good matching antenna on the reader), it’s possible to “brick” the chip so it will not communicate properly. Take heart! The ProxLF is specially designed with a cylindrical inductor that shapes the lines of magnetic flux to perfectly couple with the small cylindrical antennas inside our x-series chip implants.
