The xEM is a great starter tag for people just getting into RFID projects. It is compatible with many inexpensive OEM and commercial 125kHz readers and stand-alone access controllers.
The xEM is a 125KHz ATA5577 chip set, which is programmed as a EM4200 / EM4102. These cannot be read by an NFC smartphone or device. Please check out our NFC compatible implants such as the xNT or FlexNT.

All Microchip Implantations take less than 10 seconds with the use of a syringe injection. They take about 2 weeks to heal fully with only around 2 days for the incision to close up. Within 2 months any scaring from the incision will normally disappear.
